BNB Chain Extends Zero-Fee Stablecoin Transfers

BNB Chain Extends Zero-Fee Stablecoin Transfers

BNB Chain has extended its 0 Fee Carnival for USDC, USD1 and U through September 30, keeping selected stablecoin transfers free of gas charges across participating wallets, exchanges and bridges. According to the official BNB Chain announcement, the campaign runs until 23:59 UTC on September 30 and has already covered more than $4.5 million in fees for users. The extension subsidizes specific stablecoin transaction routes rather than eliminating BNB Smart Chain’s underlying gas system.

The September deadline continues a program that had previously been extended through July 31. BNB Chain has repeatedly renewed the campaign while maintaining broadly similar eligibility rules. The current promotion remains asset- and route-specific, meaning users should not interpret “0 fee” as applying automatically to every USDC, USD1 or U transaction executed on the network.

Zero-Fee Coverage Depends on Transaction Route

Direct wallet transfers receive different treatment depending on the asset. On BNB Smart Chain, qualifying USD1 and U transfers are unlimited, while USDC users receive two free wallet-to-wallet transfers per day. The minimum qualifying transfer is $0.10, and users must transact through supported wallets such as Binance Wallet, Trust Wallet, SafePal, TokenPocket, Coin98 or other participating applications. These conditions make the program a targeted gas subsidy rather than a protocol-level waiver for every stablecoin operation.

Centralized exchange withdrawals are also covered through participating venues, including Binance, Bitget, MEXC, Ourbit, BingX, LBank and HTX, although supported assets, networks and minimum withdrawal amounts vary by provider. Cross-chain coverage is narrower: Celer cBridge and Meson.fi support selected USDC routes into BSC from networks including Ethereum, Arbitrum, Polygon, Avalanche, Optimism and, through Meson, Tron. Eligibility therefore depends on the specific exchange, wallet or bridge used, not simply on holding one of the three supported stablecoins.

The extension also arrives shortly after Binance and Circle expanded their commercial relationship around USDC. On September 22, the companies announced a new five-year agreement alongside Binance’s $100 million equity investment in Circle, with Binance committing to broaden USDC distribution, particularly in emerging markets. That partnership is separate from BNB Chain’s fee campaign, but both developments expand infrastructure around moving and accessing USDC.

Osaka Does Not Mean 20,000 TPS Today

BNB Chain’s payments push follows the Osaka/Mendel hard fork activated on April 28. The upgrade introduced execution, gas-management and network-stability changes, including a protocol-level transaction gas cap, but it should not be described as having already raised production throughput to 20,000 TPS. That figure remains a broader 2026 engineering target involving client, storage and execution optimizations beyond Osaka itself. The distinction is important when reading the earlier Osaka capacity upgrade alongside subsequent roadmap work.

The fee campaign operates on a different layer from those protocol improvements. Osaka changes how BSC processes and validates activity, whereas the Carnival absorbs or rebates transaction costs for qualifying users through participating infrastructure. Gasless user experience and lower underlying network fees are therefore related but technically distinct mechanisms.

With the current deadline now approaching, the next concrete milestone is September 30 at 23:59 UTC. Unless BNB Chain announces another extension, qualifying USDC, USD1 and U transactions will lose the promotional coverage after that point under the currently published terms. Any subsequent renewal would determine whether zero-fee stablecoin movement remains an ongoing ecosystem incentive or returns to standard network and provider pricing.
