Coinbase Adds PONS and WHUF to Listing Roadmap

Coinbase roadmap update visual with glowing PONS and WHUF tokens on Ronin and Base networks.

Coinbase Adds PONS and WHUF to Listing Roadmap

Coinbase has added Pons (PONS) and Whuffie (WHUF) to its asset listing roadmap, signaling that the exchange has decided to support both tokens once the necessary launch conditions are satisfied. Under Coinbase’s official listing roadmap, PONS is identified as a Robinhood Chain asset while WHUF is listed on Base, with contract addresses published to help users distinguish the supported tokens from similarly named assets.

The roadmap designation does not mean either asset is already tradable. Coinbase says trading begins only after sufficient market-making support and technical infrastructure are in place, with a separate announcement issued through Coinbase Markets. Roadmap inclusion represents a decision to list rather than the launch of deposits or spot trading itself. Coinbase’s current asset pages still identify both PONS and WHUF as unavailable for trading on the platform.

PONS Extends Its Centralized Exchange Reach

PONS is the reference token associated with pons, a non-custodial token launch platform operating on Robinhood Chain. Its official documentation identifies the same contract address published by Coinbase and describes PONS as a graduated token trading through the platform’s onchain liquidity infrastructure. The Coinbase decision would add another centralized distribution route without changing PONS’ underlying Robinhood Chain deployment.

The asset already trades on other centralized venues. PONS/USDT opened on Bybit in September, expanding access beyond the launchpad and Robinhood Chain DEX markets. Bybit’s PONS spot listing added another centralized trading venue That development came as Robinhood Chain itself accumulated substantial decentralized activity, including more than $70 billion in cumulative Uniswap volume. A Coinbase listing would broaden accessibility further, but exchange availability alone does not establish sustainable demand or liquidity for PONS.

The network assignment is particularly important because PONS should not be confused with unrelated tokens using the same ticker on other chains. Coinbase explicitly identifies the Robinhood Chain contract it intends to support. Users who eventually deposit PONS will need to follow the network and contract specifications in Coinbase’s final trading announcement rather than relying on the ticker alone.

WHUF Brings Ethos Reputation Markets to Coinbase

WHUF is the native token of Ethos, an onchain reputation protocol deployed on Base. Ethos uses reviews, vouches and other social signals to construct public credibility profiles, while WHUF introduces an economic layer for vouching, protocol participation and contributor incentives. Official token-sale materials set WHUF’s total supply at 10 million tokens with no ongoing emissions.

Ethos says users can put WHUF behind reputation judgments through its vouching system, making economic exposure part of the protocol’s credibility model. The token becomes transferable on October 8 under the project’s current schedule. That transferability milestone is separate from Coinbase trading support, which still requires Coinbase to complete its own launch process.

WHUF also adds another Base-native asset to Coinbase’s broader ecosystem. Base has developed substantial onchain markets beyond conventional crypto tokens, including tokenized equities that have generated hundreds of millions of dollars in Uniswap volume. Coinbase’s decision to add WHUF to its roadmap expands the range of Base applications represented in its centralized asset pipeline, but does not demonstrate adoption of Ethos itself.

For both projects, the remaining operational milestone is straightforward. Coinbase has disclosed its decision to list PONS and WHUF, but has not announced trading pairs, launch times or deposit availability. Until Coinbase Markets publishes the separate trading notice, neither roadmap addition should be described as a live Coinbase spot listing.
