KuCoin Adds Five xStocks to Spot Trading

KuCoin has expanded its tokenized-equity offering with five xStocks linked to some of the largest publicly traded U.S. companies. According to the exchange’s official listing announcement, Amazon xStock (AMZNX), Coinbase xStock (COINX), Intel xStock (INTCX), Meta xStock (METAX) and NVIDIA xStock (NVDAX) are being added as USDT spot markets, with deposits supported through Solana’s SPL infrastructure.

KuCoin scheduled AMZNX/USDT, COINX/USDT and METAX/USDT to begin trading at 10:00 UTC on November 2, following a one-hour call auction starting at 09:00 UTC. INTCX/USDT and NVDAX/USDT were scheduled one hour later, with their call auction running from 10:00 to 11:00 UTC. The staggered launch introduces the five assets through KuCoin’s conventional spot order-book infrastructure rather than through a separate tokenized-stock marketplace.

xStocks Provide Backed Equity Exposure

The instruments are issued by Backed Assets (JE) Limited and should not be confused with direct ownership of Amazon, Coinbase, Intel, Meta or Nvidia shares. According to the official xStocks legal documentation, each xStock is a bearer debt instrument structured as a tracker certificate and collateralized 1:1 by the corresponding underlying security held in segregated custody. Holders receive economic exposure to the referenced equity but do not obtain shareholder voting rights.

Corporate actions are handled through xStocks’ rebasing system. Dividends received from underlying shares are reinvested after applicable taxes, while stock splits and reverse splits are reflected through adjustments to token balances. On Solana, the raw token balance remains unchanged and a Scaled UI multiplier determines the displayed amount. The token therefore tracks the economic position through a defined financial and technical structure rather than simply mirroring a stock price through an uncollateralized derivative.

Solana already supports an active secondary market for these instruments. Raydium has processed billions of dollars in tokenized-stock trading, while Orca has developed a growing share of Solana’s tokenized-equity volume. KuCoin adds a centralized order-book venue to an xStocks ecosystem that already extends across wallets, decentralized exchanges and multiple blockchains.

Geographic Restrictions Limit KuCoin Access

Blockchain transferability does not mean the products are universally available through the exchange. KuCoin prohibits xStocks trading for users across numerous jurisdictions, including the United States, United Kingdom, Australia, Canada, Mainland China, Hong Kong, Singapore and Japan, alongside many European countries. Platform eligibility remains subject to KuCoin’s geographic and compliance controls even though the underlying xStocks can exist and move on public blockchain infrastructure.

The restriction also illustrates the fragmentation developing around tokenized equities. Different issuers can represent similar underlying stocks through different legal wrappers, distribution rules and blockchain networks. PancakeSwap, for example, already aggregates products from xStocks and several competing issuers as tokenized-asset trading expands across multiple RWA providers. A tokenized Amazon or Nvidia product from one issuer is therefore not automatically interchangeable with another representation of the same company.

xStocks themselves are already available across Solana, Ethereum, Arbitrum, Mantle, TON, Ink and other compatible networks, while primary issuance and redemption remain separate from secondary-market trading and require issuer onboarding. The broader xStocks infrastructure has also begun connecting with institutional products, including tokenized money-market assets integrated alongside the equity stack. KuCoin’s five listings expand distribution for existing tokenized securities rather than creating five new underlying equity products.

The measurable next step is market activity. KuCoin has established the pairs, Solana deposit route and geographic eligibility framework, but trading volume and liquidity will determine whether the five new markets develop meaningful usage beyond their initial listing.
